RCM Competition Winner 2015

Sutherland Health and Lansinoh's joint competition for midwives.

Community midwife at Gosport War Memorial Hospital wins a lucky delivery from Lansinoh and Sutherland Health Group Plc.

On the 10th and 11th of November 2015, Sutherland Health Group Plc exhibited at the Royal College of Midwives annual conference where over 1000 professional and student midwives came together to debate the latest issues within the maternity sector and to view innovative products from healthcare companies.  During the conference Sutherland Health Group Plc and breastfeeding experts Lansinoh ran a joint competition offering delegates the chance to win a Biston® Point of Care Midwifery Bag and a full range of Lansinoh breastfeeding products including a Lansinoh Manual Breast Pump, Latch Assist, HPA Lanolin Nipple Cream, Breastmilk Storage Bags, Ultra Thin Stay Dry Nursing Pads and TheraPeal Hot or Cold Breast Therapy.

The prize was of special interest to midwives working in the community. The Biston® Point of Care Bag has been ergonomically designed to evenly spread the weight of heavy medical equipment and therefore helping to reduce the risk of injury. The bag has also been designed to provide a completely customisable equipment storage system for use during home visits and appointments. This helps ensure the vital work that community midwives perform on a daily basis is carried out safely and efficiently.

Lansinoh has been working with mums and families for over 30 years to provide support and products that help establish and extend the special breastfeeding relationship mums and babies have. Lansinoh works closely with midwives, health visitors, GPs and lactation consultants to make sure advice and support is always available when mums need it most.  Lansinoh offers a range of high quality products and thoughtful support and information, based on a unique combination of scientific knowledge and real-life experience

Over 250 midwives entered the competition and the lucky winner was Sharon Buttriss, Specialist Teenage Pregnancy Community Midwife from Gosport War Memorial Hospital. The prize was presented to Sharon and her manager Debbie Hill, Clinical Lead for Public Health on the 16th December 2015, Sharon was extremely please with her prizie stating; "I am able to store everything I need in one handy bag which is easy to carry instead of carrying 3 bulky bags which is not good for my back”
