New Gynaecology diagnostics on contract with NHS England

The Board of Sutherland Health Group, a national supplier of patient hygiene and sexual health products to customers including the NHS, announces that its Condomania division has been successful in being added to a Framework Agreement Contract with NHS England to supply Obstetric and Gynaecological
Sundries and Accessories that is effective from 1 October 2009 until 30 September 2012. The Agreement has an option to extend for up to a further 12 months. The two new diagnostic products will be supplied under the Company’s Vision® brand name.

The Vision® Vaginal Infection Swab is a point of care professional probe for use by Health Professionals that detects in a matter of seconds whether a woman has Bacterial Vaginosis, Trichomonas, or other parasitic infections. It can be used when a patient has an abnormal vaginal discharge, but can also be used to routinely check women who have a history of pre-term delivery in pregnancy, before IVF procedures, and other vaginal procedures.

The Vision® Amniotic Leak Detector is a diagnostic panty liner worn by pregnant women that has a patented technology proven in clinical trials that can warn if any amniotic fluid leak has been detected on the panty liner. This helps to protect the mother and baby and also helps to reduce the risk of
complications or premature birth. The product is recommended for use in both high risk and normal pregnancies.

Commenting on the new products Chief Executive George Sutherland said:

“Nearly 100,000 cases of Bacterial Vaginosis were detected in sexual health clinics in 2008, an increase of 64% since 1999. With that rate of increase in infection it is clear there is a need for a product like the Vision® Vaginal Infection Swab.

The launch of our Vision® Amniotic Leak Detector will be of great benefit to pregnant women for when we look at pre-term births in the UK we have one of the highest levels in Western Europe with over 50,000 in 2008.

Both these products we believe will engender a high level of interest from all health professionals whether working in the NHS or within the private sector. We look forward to developing our sales in the Gynaecology market sector in what is for us a new and very important market sector.”

Commenting on the news Chairman John French said:

“Following the announcement of the 16 November of a maiden profit with our interim results this important contract is very much in keeping with our strategy of building our importance to the NHS and Private Sector healthcare by offering a broader product base of diagnostics and healthcare products and reflects our confidence in prospects for further positive growth ”

The Directors of the Issuer accept responsibility for this announcement.
