Following on from the success of Thixo-D Original it was soon felt that an additional product was needed in this market but one that enabled the user not to add further calories to their diet.
Thixo-D Cal-Free is a clarified, dispersible grade of free-flowing xanthan gum which is suitable for use in food preparations. Thixo-D Cal-Free solutions are high viscosity and unaffected by heat or pH-value of the drink to be thickened.
As the product has a slight granular nature, when dispersed in liquids it can be a little lumpy, with full viscosity being achieved in 10 minutes. No special equipment is required, just a little care to add the product gradually to the liquid with a spoon, ensuring that the least amount of air is trapped whilst mixing. Like Thixo-D Original it does not mask the flavour or leave any kind of aftertaste.
Thixo-D Cal-Free is gluten, milk, calorie and carbohydrate free and is suitable as a dietary additive for the ketogenic diet.
